JKL Bahweting Anishnabe School, in cooperation with parents and community, provides an educational program that develops each student’s individual abilities. We are committed to providing educational excellence through rigorous and relevant programs within a safe, nurturing, and culturally rich environment with specific emphasis on the Anishinaabe traditions and language.

 Academic Services:

The purpose of the Title I Program is to ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach, at minimum, proficiency on challenging State Academic Standards and academic assessment through additional assistance.  To inquire about the program, a parent/guardian should contact the Programs Coordinator.

 Special Education:

JKL Bahweting School provides Special Education services for students identified as having a disability defined by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).  Students are found eligible for Special Education services through the proper evaluation and placement procedures, governed by State and Federal Guidelines.  Parents/guardians are encouraged to be active participants in the Child Study and referral process.  To inquire about the procedure or program, a parent/guardian should contact the Special Education Coordinator.

 Gifted and Talented:

The purpose of the Gifted and Talented Program is to provide targeted enrichment in an accelerated educational program, including the use of school-wide programs or additional services that increase the amount and quality of instructional time.  To inquire about the program, a parent/guardian should contact the Programs Coordinator.
