Ms. Megan LaRocque

Megan LaRocque began working at JKL in 2015. She was a  paraprofessional for one year, after which she was hired in the middle school as a Reading Academic Services teacher.

Her passion is teaching history, social studies, and reading. She loves to learn and is always looking for new ways to challenge herself professionally. Currently she is earning her English endorsement through Baker College and is a candidate to become a Nationally Board Certified Teacher in Social Studies/History.

She believes that students learn best through a mixture of conversation and writing, and she emphasizes both in her classroom. In her eyes, technology plays an integral part in the classrooms of today, and digital literacy is an important skill to learn if one wants to be successful in today's world.

She lives in Sault Ste. Marie with her boyfriend, their son, and 2 dogs, Hogarth and Buster.
