Mrs. Heather Purple

Mrs. Heather Purple began working at JKL in 2006.  She teaches 6th and 7th grade middle school science, as well as several Exploratory classes: Grossology, CSI, Zoology and STEM Studio.  She also acts as an advisor for the middle school Advisory program.  She is passionate about sharing her love of science as applied to the real world and everyday life.  Mrs. Purple loves to do labs and experiments with her classes.  She believes that holding high expectations both academically and behaviorally for all students ensures a safe, comfortable learning environment.  Mrs. Purple's science lab is full of fun science curiousities that never fail to generate questions and interest.  She shares the science lab with her eleven year old, three foot Ball python, Luanda.  Luanda loves to be held and often participates in class activities.  

Mrs. Purple was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  She attended Northern Michigan University.  She is married with two daughters and a dog.  Mrs. Purple loves to spend time outdoors camping and hiking.  She loves taking her Austrailian shepard Finn for long walks.  Mrs. Purple absolutley adores teaching middle school students and cannot imagine doing anything else!
